El Faro are one of the new darlings of Spain's vibrant underground pop scene. A duo from the Canary Islands well under their twenties which can remind you of Beat Happening, The Pastels or Comet Gain, but in Spanish and with a touch of The Smiths circa “Suffer Little Children”. In a more pedestrian language, El Faro are like a rejuvenated version of Sr. Chinarro or Los Planetas with bittersweet and witty lyrics. In fact their forte is their mastership of the lovelife (or lack of) narrative. El Faro, in their relatively short life, have supported The Wave Pictures, Daniel Johnston and Little Wings.
